Pathways to Natural Health
2007-2008 Carpinteria Valley Chamber of Commerce Directory
Have you ever wanted to find a doctor who is able to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors that contribute to health and disease? A doctor who can provide compassionate health care to people of all ages and health conditions? Dr. Lizzie Clapham, licensed naturopathic doctor and registered yoga teacher, has recently moved to Carpinteria and has opened her clinic in Santa Barbara.
Like all naturopathic doctors, she is licensed as a primary care doctor with a specialty in natural health. Her scope of practice includes all aspects of family medicine from pediatrics to geriatrics and she is able to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of acute and chronic conditions. She is trained in conventional treatments and diagnostics. While rooted in modern science, naturopathic medicine preserves the wisdom of natural healing.
Dr. Clapham is interested in all factors that contribute to disease and symptoms, not only family and personal history but life-style factors like quality of sleep, diet, stress levels, hormonal influences, hydration levels, digestive health and others. She encourages patients to modify the factors that contribute to their condition over a period of time. She encourages each patient to optimize their health potential so that they are not only improving their current conditions but truly preventing future disease. Most importantly, she is able to spend enough time with patients to look beyond the diagnosis at the unique individual and their physiology.
